Gonna post this here I guess but I haven't played Pokemon since Sun and Moon but I picked up Violet emulated recently.
When did they change how pokemon Cries work? Not talking about the Gen 6 updated cries, I mean when did they start editing them up more? Because I actually really like it and it gives the pokemon a lot more personality.

Gen 6 has some altered cries that are used for Amie which carried over into 7-9 for their equivalents, but I think Gen 9 is the first one to use these variants outside of that setting and I think it also may have added more variants.

Also PLA & SV gave Pikachu and Eevee their original cries back which is gigabased.

I had an actual dream last night where people were imagining pokemon and conjuring them up. I feel like I peered into the future here and saw the true outcome for what it was.

Full disclosure, I was 100% on board with the "future/past/timetravel" theory until I had this dream. Now I know that it's the imagination theory that's correct.
