Holy fuck when will a new Pokemon movie be announced? It has been 3 years since the last movie released.

There probably won't be anymore movies for a very long time until TPC figures out how to make a blockbuster on par with the Mario Movie, COVID completely killed their flow with Japanese theaters, and it's clear their unwillingness to return means they want to go bigger and better.

Nope, they stopped making Mythical Pokemon precisely because there's no movies to tie them to. Thus far to our currently knowledge Gen 9 is the first generation in the entire ongoing franchise to not debut a Mythical.

Not him but Ash will definitely stay as a movie figure. Whether it be in the regular timeline or AU is up in the open, no need to beat around that. Liko and will atleast get one movie but other than that it's probably gonna take a page out of Yugi's pocket.

I got to say, I would've never guess Heroes was a fan favorite and imagine my surprise to find out that it is one of, if not the most, popular film in the franchise. Also, never knew about Miyazaki saying that, could you give a source, I would love to read the details if there is any.

Are you used to the English dub? If so, that might explain it since their sound editing is rancid. For some reason, they got the original voice actress for Latias and got her to redub all of Latios' deep sounds with her high pitched Latias noises, and then it feels like they doubled the amount of that sound so for the last third of the film has the high pitched cooing noise playing almost constantly. I remember watching it for the first time and it felt like I was getting an earache.

The Hoopa movie was great and the hate campaign for it is delusional. At most, it had a weak ending because of Arceus always being portrayed like a fucking dogshit Deus Ex Machina.

I own a japanese copy of it. It's been decent at best, but the Legendary group battle pitch was really overblown and borderline underwhelming holy shit. Plus more possesed Ash rectons from taking place from the middle of the movie onward to just to the near end of it.

Tweedia stays based tho.

I don't think it's perfect, but I find Hoopa's backstory and character really heartwarming. The Legendary group battle and Arceus were the most underwhelming parts of the movie, but at least it didn't almost put me to sleep like Jewel of Life.

I've been rewatching all the Pokémon movies and it felt nice not to have "giant mechanical airship" for the billionth time too (not that all of them are bad, but come on).

The Sinnoh movies hold a special place in my heart, I remember being really hyped for them as a kid, especially the Arceus movie. I thought it was pretty cool that they did a trilogy with the Sinnoh movies, wish they tried that again.

The movies have always had Ash and now he's gone. That in combination with no movies during covid has left us in the current state of sort of waiting.

Another side effect of this, we no longer have that consistent stream of one a year mythicals that used to star in movies. Like XY had Diancie, Hoopa and Volcanion coded and they were set for 3 years.
