The last two gens have been an absolute trainwreck and my brain refuses to acknowledge their existence.
As for your question(s), the Cyndaquil line got pretty fucked too, thanks to the fire change, and Blastoise consistently having issues firing water from the actual goddamn cannons is another big fuckup.
The Blastoise one is especially bad because it's a damn gen 1 starter alongside Charizard, who gets way more focus; you'd think the gen 1 starters would get more love and attention, but nope, just Charizard.
