Open world was a mistake. Sword and Shield had a decent maps, should have just sticked to that formula.

BoTW was an impactful game and fans had "grass is greener on the other side" syndrome wishing open world Kanto had the production values of Nintendo EPD or Monolith, optimization and all instead of remembering Game Freak was a C-List developer with an A-grade IP under their belt.

SwSh may have been linear, but at least its towns were easily distinguishable and colorful. Most towns in SV are bland garbage.
