"Did you know Pokemon is actually a bit scary??
Today, I'd like to share a story that's a bit creepy related to Pokemon.
If you know Pokemon, there are three Pokemons named Regice, Registeel, and Regirock. They first appeared in Pokemon Ruby & Saphir. Now, the place you travel around in the game is called Hoenn, and this Hoenn region is actual Kyushu region in Japan turned 90° to the right.
Now, these three Regi Pokemons are placed in places that had huge air raids during the World War Two
The place where Regirock appears in the game is Ohita Prefecture in Japan where a huge air raid called 大分大空襲 happened during world war two.
The place where Registeel appears in the game is Miyazaki prefecture in Japan where another huge air raid called 宮崎大空襲 tool place.
and lastly the place where Regice appears in the game is Nagasaki prefecture in Japan where the notorious atomic bomb was dropped.
These three Regi Pokemons learn "Hyper Beam" at level 89. This 89 means August 9, the day the atomic bomb was dropped in Nagasaki. and the skill "Hyper Beam" is called はかいこうせん in Japanese which means Beam of destruction Furthermore, the word Regi means "war victims" in old Japanese.
Plus, there is another Regi Pokemon called Regigigas. This Pokemon appears in Pokemon Diamond Pearl and the place where Regigigas appears in the game is Wakkanai Soya Misaki, Hokkaido, Japan in real life. and I'm that place, there is a stone monument that reads "Never Repeat War, Ever"
Plus, in order to catch the three Regi Pokemons, you need to bring Wailord and Relicanth, and the shape of those two Pokemons are very similar to the shapes of the atomic bombs dropped in Nagasaki and Hiroshima.
So from everything above, Pokemon Ruby Saphir Diamond and Pearl are all related to World War Two. And the message is "We never repeat the history of war, ever again"
Game Freak subtly hid such a heavy message in a kids' videogame."
