Gen 3: A zigzagoon, a swablu and a magikarp while hunting for... feebas. And a voltorb in FireRed
Gen 4: For some reason I have never, ever got a shiny in any gen 4 game despite adding up in total the most hours I've spent replaying
Gen 5: Once again I was hunting for feebas and this time a shiny basculin appeared. Later an azurill in Black 2.
Gen 6, I got a ferroseed which I added to my story team. Unfortunately, the cart was stolen. Later I bought another game and got a handful in friend safari, but at this point there are already mechanics greatly increasing the odds. In ORAS I got a few shinies while using hordes to EV train.
Gen 7, I was breeding abras with random natures for wild Synchronize mechanic and one of them came out shiny -so far my only shiny egg by pure chance-. Then a golbat I think. A handful in SOS battles and another few in ultra spaces, but again, inflated chances whether I intend or not. I grabbed the game ages later to pass something to gen 8 through pokebank and while searching for it, a wild furfrou appeared in Hau'oli gardens.
Gen 8, I got a shiny steelix raid - unfortunately I didn't know I could have run and preserve it otherwise I'd have shared. And then a random gurdurr. There was also a corsola raid I run into online but I have no way to know if that one was manipulated or not. though you could say randomly running into a shiny raid online is itself a matter of luck if you aren't following "those" channels
Gen 9, at this point I'm deliberately shiny hunting and got a few boxes, but if I count the ones that genuinely appeared while not hunting, I must have a couple dozens still. A few that appear while I'm hunting something else also.
