At least it had a better name than just "Pokemon League" which the later gens did, but like what they were thinking calling it a city, when they could have just named it something like Evergrande Island which would have been fine

This would have been too much of a rehash but they literally could have called it Evergrande Plateau because this time it's literally a plateau.
Heck maybe they originally did and changed it to something way less fitting to avoid the rehash lol

The actual city is offscreen. The player never visits it however because it's not relevant to their journey of becoming the region's champion, so much like other details, your perspective of the Pokemon world is abstracted through the lens of a child who has a select few fixations of interest.
