Despite what I personally enjoy or not enjoy, it's still true that Pokémon games don't have the same quality standards when compared to other games from successful triple A video game franchises. They are below the industry standard for that caliber of games in a lot of aspects (graphics being the most obvious one). And that's pretty embarrassing when considering that it's the highest grossing video game franchise in the world.
I personally don't really mind because I also like indie games that aren't necessarily good, but I can separate my personal opinion from objective criticism. Fact is that Pokémon games were always below industry standards in one way or another, despite being way more successful than most of their competitors.

I mean it was the same for me when I was that age too. When I was 20, people in their early to mid 30s seemed kinda weird to me, just different.
