I have no clue but I'm glad they did. Before the shiters ruin this thread, I gotta say BW are the closest I ever got to feeling like playing a pokemon game and not just another game in the pokemon series.

Yeah, and I like it more because of this.

I don't want to do honey trees, and plant berries, and cook poffins and do contests along side playing a game.

inb4 less content = bad.
I don't care how many chocobo races you have, if they don't do anything to accentuate the main game then I couldn't care less.
No safari zone sucks, for example and poke star is gay but I didn't miss berries when they implemented gems and a new way to find them.

The only people who like Gen 5 are the people too young to remember Pokemon from the prior eras. Go read threads on B&W from back when the games were new, or hell from just five years ago. Unilaterally regarded as the worst gen until X&Y came along.
It's only when the zoomer generation got old enough to consistently post did the G5 shilling begin.

I played it as an adult, zoomaloom. It sucks. The most linear and storydriven pokemon up that point, features the early predecessor of the 'walk three yards; cutscene' disease that plagues the newest games, has the most uninspired Pokémon design (you're too young to remember them being called digimon), the most boring region, and tries way too hard to be dark and edgy to appeal to a "modern more mature audience". It's Pokemon's Shadow the Hedgehog.

The game isn't based on America the way Galar is the UK.
It uses the idea of a melting pot to make a multicultural (Almost entirely Japanese) region.
