I enjoy shiny hunting mons I like, but I would never do it in an old game because it's so time-consuming and honestly not worth it for me. I'm glad GF made it easier in SV, because it's an amount of effort and time I can put into it if I know the chances are high enough that it's not statistically likely to take me over one week.
I don't use Shiny Sandwiches though.
