Central Asia (Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Xinjiang, Tuva)
underexploited in media while still being recognizable ( especially mongolian).
Environment can be diverse while being close to real life (frozen plains, permafrost,desert, mountains huge lakes, great rivers, etc..)
There is opportunities to add more horses, hawks and MMA inspired Pokémons
Also the perfect opportunity to piss off Big China

Nice trips. That's not an issue, it's an opportunity. This could be implemented as an evil team that aims to colonize the region and converts culturally the inhabitants of the region. Could be the first team with predominantly fighting type pokemons with Mienshao and Pancham.
