>>54199367I didn't realize it when I played Y (and I've replayed Kanto games plenty of times). I think the point was to showcase how change of perspective from the one the games had used before Gen6 affected the perception of the world, supposedly making it more immersive by enhancing the sense of depth.
Kind of cute, it wasn't the worst thing Kalos did with ita geography. The Western part of the map is where they messed up by making the weather and habitats change too abruptly.
And it's a shame because Kalos is actually a very nice region concept-wise, too bad you can see it was rushed in some parts.
