>>54201251>BW's level system keeps you virtually the same level or higher than all NPCs the entire gameIt really doesn't. If anything, the system keeps you slightly underleveled unless you grind, but what kind of loser does that?
The level curve issue with Johto also isn't a difficulty issue.
If you want to switch out a new Pokemon into your team, you're stuck babysitting or grinding it for a very extended period of time, which is not exactly a great experience.
If you plan your teams ahead of time, this of course isn't an issue, but that's not the normal way of playing, especially for a kid who just got the game and doesn't know what anything is.
I'm sure there are people who think the level curve is actually an issue because of Red, but they're mouth-breathing retards who don't understand that you don't need to be anywhere near his level to win, hell, you're not supposed to.
The Elite 4 is supposed to be hard because it's a gauntlet of hard trainers. Red has to stand alone as the final boss, so the game just does not have the tools to level your team to his level in a reasonable manner.
You have so many advantages over him anyways, it's perfectly reasonable to do the fight as soon as you beat Blue, which is probably mind 50's.
