Hello /vp/. I haven't lurked on this board before, so I apologize in advance for being a newfriend and making a post.

I'm going to play through HeartGold for the first time. I haven't played through a real Pokémon game since Gold on the Gameboy Color, many years ago. I remember it was an infuriatingly slow experience at the beginning, probably because I was mostly into fps games at the time (especially the half life mods sven-coop and natural selection) but after a few hours I got so immersed in the world that the slow paced constant menu'ing and battles didn't bother me.

Anyway, I was hoping you could tell me about any secrets or easily missable content in the beginning of the game. Also, first dubs select my starter.
