>>54223270I think Japanese people are easily amused by rapping poorly because it’s a foreign music genre that isn’t as popular in the country. Westerners are used to shitty rap and think it’s cringy, due to out of touch people trying to appeal kids, as well as talentless hacks trying to make out of the hood or be SoundCloud rappers. So when western make goofy raps as a bit, they put in the effort to make the rap sound unironically decent, plus these joke raps typically match modern styles and trends. Japanese joke rap in media is always some kind of 90’s rap battle or some shit because it’s recognizable and they don’t really keep up with the genre.
(And yes I know there are Japanese rap fans and Japanese rap that is actually good, it’s just not as common as in America or what have you.)
