I’m making a 2-stage orca line and they’ll be themed after inflatable toys because I’m going for a cute-yet-dangerous angle. What do you guys have to say?

what the previous anon said.
The first form is fine, it fits the shit pokemon is known for but the second form needs more to it. As it stands, it's just a vague orca shape that doesn't have any personality of it's own.
Cute yet dangerous, the only danger part being it's random fangs.

Bigger more pronounced nose, give it a larger fin. If it's supposed to look cute yet dangerous, I think it's better to have it being cute and trying to be dangerous looking instead. So it mimics a sharks fin to scare off pokemon in the dark sea who can't quite see them well.

Guess this is the new fakemon thread. Here's one I just finished. It's loosely based on the electric flame scallop, that's why I just took those types (also I have too many water types already lol). Figured it could work as a single stager like Pyukumuku or Pincurchin.

Next up I wanna make my fossils, but I still have to think about stuff. Rather than using dinosaurs I thought maybe I'd go for mammals instead. One I definitely want to be based on animals getting stuck in tar pits, maybe a mammoth?

i'd actually say the opposite, the 2nd form looks more clearly like a pool floaty toy to me while the 1st form looks like a more generic/kids' cartoon-y interpretation of a whale

what if you made the first stage a different type of floaty toy entirely, like a beach ball or an inflatable ring? or maybe one of those floaty nerf footballs

I have 2 more ideas for an orca line. One is a Water/Ice line with Haida artwork-like patterns, and the other one is an orca/puppy hybrid that becomes more orca-line upon evolving.

I'm not sure what to say beyond it being a Water type version. Maybe add fin like fur to its evolution?

I'd post my fakemon, but all I have is black and white sketches of them currently.

The idea was it's the mop to nickits broom, it wears galoshes over its boots.

Those eye things on its ears are supposed to scare pokemon in the water so trainers have an easier time catching them, since it's also based on the fish-fox fearsome critter.

So what was the idea behind these? Some kind of zombie/monster of frankenstein kind of deal? What type is it? I think it could be a fun idea, but could use some fleshing out. I do think they are much too similar, in general body shape and design. Maybe make the face change more clearly from one form to the next, right now they both have the exact same shape of head, same eyes etc.

I like the overall concept, but it need something to really sell them as pool toys. Maybe make the little guy look a bit more like water wings it's evolution can take on an inflatable raft sort of design. Right now they just sort of look like fish.

Honestly I don't know what I'm going to do, I didn't get that far. It's the story of my region. I've got a couple ideas for first or second stages but nothing for the final.

theyre flightless pterosaurs and ghost/psychic. the brain is to evoke a pterosaurs crest and is the source of its psychic power or whatever, and yeah theres some frankenstein theming.
the first stage did initially have big cute eyes but i felt like it muddled the theme a bit too much, but ill try playing around with it some more
