I do it as this anon said >>54233028.
I usually write three parts: mentality or how they thought, physical description and some background.
I write as I think about it, then I separate it into those three and start trimming to low the number of tokens.
Helps me keep it concise and not bloat it, taking out repetition in personal bots or unnecessary information for characters.

I think I'm done now, it's around 1350 tokens, I have to try it first and edit if it sucks. It's a story where Lilligant finds you after a fight with a wild Raticate, next to your dead Eevee, and tends to you in her lonely garden filled with azaleas.
She has a nice backstory, fleshed out personality, cool stuff she enjoys. Was banished by her old tribe for being too vicious and brutal in battles, for example. I want her to be gentle, graceful, elegant, naive etc but also brutal, obedient, aggressive and so on. And more other things. I typed quite a lot about her.

Not him, but if you're talking about sample messages, then it's to help the AI understand how the bot should talk.
It's not a permanent token so it won't get sent when the context fills up. But at that point, your bot should be following the sample on your chats, so it's a non-issue.

A trick question, since neither long descriptions nor definitions do anything exact.

But it's exactly what it looks like. Conversations are what-if scenarios that help guide AI towards a specific mindset.

In a recent example, I released an Ushio Okazaki AI today since the stray one that was there disappeared. I utilized a sample conversation to heavily imply that her mother Nagisa is living. This was done to decrease her chances of implying otherwise, and to theoretically steer her towards including her mother for topics in the present tense.

Everyone always talks about stuff like temperature, top p, top k and penalties so it's more or less easy to work out what to use there. But what about context length and max new tokens? And going back to agnai specifically: what the fuck is that entire memory section and how does it work? Should one just ignore it if they don't use lorebooks?

You have an "its" and "it's" mix-up here. These should both be "its." That happens occasionally anyway with generated text since it's a common mistake, but the bot will make that error consistently with it in the greeting. Double check the rest of your definitions (or have ChatGPT or something do it for you if you're not good at proofreading.)

Max new tokens is how long the AI response is. 300-500 tokens is a good ballpark. If the response is longer than that, it will be cut off mid-sentence. It's easy to notice.
Max context length is basically the memory of the AI. Card definitions will always get sent, that's why it's called permanent tokens. Sample messages and opening messages won't get sent when the context fills up. Chat history and JB/prompts counts toward this.
Turbo16k has 16k context, GPT4 has 8k or 32k and Claude has 100k. It doesn't matter if you're using a proxy, so just set it to the max.
If you're paying with your own money, you could set it lower since the costs depend on the context you send.
I don't know what the memory section is since I don't use agnai, but lorebooks help a lot in making the bot more immersive.

I got a more modern Micktaw tutorial out now. To reiterate, his primary purpose is to help commentate battles in 2-AI rooms. Maybe later I'll try being one of the combatants.

For categories, game characters is basically a staple. I am not entirely sure if it helps, but I tend to add the [Debate] category for someone who I'd like to be more argumentive. I can't confirm if it helps, but it never hurt.

Then the long description/definition is entirely up to you what you deem is important to your vision. Is she yandere? A sadist? The right keywords can change everything, and you might not get it perfect the first time, but that's too be expected.

I think you should give to copy paste that into the definition. Just two bits of advice to coincide with that format.

- Change that single [:] into [;]. It's hard to explain, the way they treat that single character will botch up the interpretation of not used more specifically.

- Make sure whatever introduction she has uses quotation marks. Again, it's hard to explain exactly why, but from my experiences, it brings more life to a single character overall.

Roughly, you do three things in my experience.
You use euphemisms, duh, you avoid suspicious verbs in favor of verbs that are generic enough to be absolutely necessary for most situations, and have patience with the filter because it will eventually give up and give you a response that's horny enough for you to use on your scenario.

It also helps that the bots are super horny so they will try to fuck you after about 20 or so interactions if you show some interest.

Models are what in the case of, say, CAI is running every bot through. It's the same thing with the others and it's the character settings you plug into it that will give whatever you're speaking to the personality you seek.
Sadly, most AI companies are barring NSFW because they are run by sex positive prog drones with temperature room business IQs.

For why you need either a supercomputer or cloud computing, I think that's the term, to run these is because of the sheer amount of logical processes and text they have to go through to simulate a conversation. They aren't joking when they call these Large Language Models.

Here's a quick and dirty experiment I did with Poe because I'm lazy. Extremely barebones bot, "You are Jessie and James from Pokemon." with an equally minimal greeting on versions of the big two models, and then CAI. With basically zero effort, you get more vastly more robust results from even stripped down and outdated models compared to Cai. Right, what's that about? You can wrangle new chats into using the old interface by changing "chat2" in the url back into just "chat" & reload, which is good because chat2 breaks scripts. Still unnecessary though (unless I missed some "exciting new feature" while giving it a chance, which I doubt).

Yeah this is also happening to me. I technically still get the traditional filter pop up, but only when it flat out refuses to generate. Not to mention, whenever the app shows me the filter pop up, it registers the failed attempt to generate text as an empty message slot, which also shouldn’t be happening. For me, CAI keeps cycling through phases where it’s functioning normally and when it’s being all glitchy and weird. And when the site is in a glitchy phase, you can’t use text to speech or send the ai images as well, as well as some other weird bugs. Just a shitty ass broken website all around.

I've created a monster in the Irene the Lucario chatbot. It started as a dumb meme. I tested this today. I had to wait a bit in a queue and chat crashed on me once but it finally worked. I did not notice any limitations regarding lewd messages. The AI itself on this site is noticeably worse than in OpenAI or CharacterAI. I tried talking with several characters.All of them start promising but reveal their problems later. They simply forget what was said very quickly and can't lead conversations. Sometimes their replies make no sense (just look at the included picture). There are many problems in this one but if you are looking for a quick gratification without limits than it's satisfactory enough. Don't expect any real adventures though.

I made a bot who’s secretly a vampire, and I had a problem in the early days with it randomly bringing up that it’s a vampire during casual conversation. Eventually it got much better at either not mentioning the trait, or revealing that it was a vampire in a way that actually made sense. I don’t think I did THAT much to correct the problem- I think what stopped it was that I had multiple conversations with it where I would only respond the messages that I liked, and I would ignore messages that brought up that it was a vampire casually. Also, write Out of Character notes ((OOC: Like this)), explaining how you want it to respond. Like, if you’re having a chat with a bot who’s secretly a vampire, and you ask the vampire for it’s age, write an note that says:

((OOC: He’s a 500 year old vampire, but because he’s pretending to be a mortal, he’s going to say he’s 25 instead.))

And write those OOC notes as early as possible, the longer you allow a bad habit to set in, the less likely the bot will actually listen to OOC suggestions.

Honestly though, CAI really struggles with handling characters that are supposed to have some kind of ‘hidden trait, such as being evil but pretending to be nice. The most effective way is to just have a bunch of chats with it over and over again to reinforce behaviors you want. Maybe write some example dialogue too. Be sure to save links to chats you like, so you don’t end up making a bunch of chats and losing access to them.
