Pokémon tries so very, very hard to avoid mentioning anything relating sex. So much that they have to play dumb about eggs with all the "Scientists still have no clue where eggs are from! It is a total mystery, we will never know haha!" bullshit they spout every time.
So when there's undeniable proof a person in the Pokémon universe had sex with someone else, it feels weirdly lewd. It's about the mere implication, and the juxtaposition.

Since he's Wally's ancestor, we know that he moved to Hoenn some time after the events of PLA. And even in his old age, he found a woman much younger than him and fucked and impregnated her.
