>>54240374I'm genuinely having trouble thinking of early Final Fantasy dungeons worse than the Whirl Islands. Maybe the Jade Passage from 2 or that one cave in 3 where the enemies split, and you had to go there before you got any dark swords to nullify the effect. The Whirl Islands stand out because like others pointed out, aside from being a chore to get through there are no rewards from it aside from Lugia, which may not be there depending on how far you are into the game and which version you're playing. I may not like going through the Sealed Cave in FFIV, but it's mandatory so at least I'm not constantly thinking about how much I'm wasting my time by going through it.
