The dex cut absolutely destroyed my enjoyment of pokemon and all these years later I've still not got used to it and I'm still not able to enjoy the series like I used to.

You can't use Ash while posting this argument because even he keeps his OG bros around. Pikachu will never be dexcut because its Pikachu, but anon might have his equivalent to Pikachu axed with no clear date on when they can hang out.
It also fucking sucks making a new bro and not being able to use them ever, I love Poipole and Silvally, and since I skipped SWSH due to it being shit, I haven't actually gotten to use them since I played Gen 7 a million years ago.

You can always keep playing the games that have your niche favorites.

I used Ash because at the end of his series, the answer to "What is a Pokémon master?" means continuing the journey and trying to befriend new Pokémon--to catch them all, in the English slogan.

That means giving Game Freak your money and finding new favorites, whether every single one from the old games is along for that leg of the journey or not.
