If it's like you said, and there really are just a few adamant haters on this board, then I figure most people have probably warmed up to it more after seeing it beyond a few leaked screenshots and webms, and are moreso just indifferent to it these days.
As for the whole "gay duck" thing... well, for one, Quaquaval's design doesn't really lean particularly masculine or feminine. Whether it's male or female doesn't matter to me, I'm not picky, I'll like it all the same; I just want a big, feathery birdfriend to hug. Same reason I love Blaziken so much. And yeah, even if one is male, despite the way it shakes its rump, dancing doesn't make it gay. I think it actually is more popular with women. Same with Inteleon last gen, and Primarina... the water starters have been on a bit of a streak, haven't they? Funny how I keep picking them.
And I know it's more of an anthro peacock, but I still like calling it a duck. It's like a goofy nickname, and its previous forms are one anyway, so it's close enough in my book.
