I'm not saying working out is the same thing as competitive battling you retard. I'm saying that, even if an action/hobby/end result/etc. is a constituent whole made up of smaller parts, we can still discuss those parts separately.
So in general, fitness requires sleep, nutrition, lifting, etc., but we'd never say understanding lifts and understanding macros are "the same thing," even if the contribute to one greater whole.
Likewise, competitive Pokémon arguably requires things like breeding, catching, and training Pokémon on the one hand and, on the other, understanding battle mechanics, meta viability, etc. But it's not "all the same thing" as you or the previous poster claimed. The knowledge and work that goes into breeding Pokémon is almost completely separate from the knowledge and work that goes into understanding competitive battling. These are absolutely different skill sets, and more than this, you can participate in one without ever once participating in the other
