Shinies like the cheese guy or Blissey, Garchomp, Ceruledge, etc. represent the apotheosis of shiny Pokémon. The pointless palette swap becomes almost totally symbolic. The aesthetic distinction of shiny Pokémon recedes, and the shininess itself becomes the point. It's shininess for its own sake, an embracing of the fundamental absurdity of chasing meaningless palette swaps, and it's beyond based.
