If you ACTUALLY hang out with other fans, you'd realize that the popularity gap between a starter's first and final form is not actually that big, and again, people don't forsake the final form unless it's objectively dogshit like Inteleon, Incineroar or Skeledirge (as I said, recent phenomenon).
