Everything since then has lacked subtleties that desperately screams "I AM BEAR! I AM BEEEEEEEEAR" because Gamefreak cucked themselves into a corner where they're concerned that kids might not realize that a pokemon is based on the concept of bears so they panickingly make the new bear pokemon too bearlike, completely removing monster elements from the design, making them look less like pokemon and more like digimon.
