>>54297411>gatekeeping Pokémon cards lol dude I get it. I’m a pro musician who tours 30 weeks out of the year and when I’m not on the road I work a retail gig at a shop that specializes in my instrument. I get casuals everyday saying the dumbest shit when I’m at work.
But what I’ve learned is to inform them, granted they’re not hard headed and willing to listen, as to common pitfalls, misconceptions, marketing bullshit etc etc. that comes with being a casual in a new hobby.
As a child I had two binders full of holos from 1st edition base sets and the team rocket sets because in elementary school it was the cool thing to trade and play. I sold those holos for dirt cheap and seeing how much money I missed out on by not keeping those cards is pretty insane. I took care of my cards and coming into this I know people specifically hunt and buy raw and graded cards. I literally bought my first booster box less than a week ago and visited the shop dedicated to Pokemon and Pokémon cards to talk to the guy behind the counter who turned out to be the owner and asked him all kinds of questions about the hobby, cards, scarcity, prints, reprints etc.
I’m legitimately curious about how other people are managing their shit, why they do it, how they do it, so on and so on.
Pull your head out of your ass anon. if I make don’t make this hobby don’t look any better, you’re no different than I.
