I earnestly feel BDSP was more fun a metagame than DPPt for everything under Ubers, but it's also hard to say with so much Council meddling into it.
There's a lot of good to come from an update.
Choice Specs, to let Magneton kill. But then, Sturdy prevents OHKOs.
Volt Switch, to make Forretress a spiker for an offensive team.
Bullet Punch and U-Turn and Roost to make Scizor a viable mon and staple of the metagame.
Dragmag, one of the most high-octane and fun team archetypes ever, becomes a thing because of Outrage buff and Choice Specs and Choice Scarf and Draco Meteor.
Cacturne and Sandslash and Exploud and Mr. Mime become usable again.
Clefable becomes a viable alternative or companion to Blissey, in a huge boost to defensive play.
Slowbro/Slowking and Quagsire become viable options.
Even lower tiers like Crawdaunt will see a huge boost to viability.
Megas would even be cool to have.
Of course it depends on split versus no split, but even just all the updates without the split would take the metagame up to a whole 'nother notch.
I would love the hell out of killing Toxic too like BDSP did.
