>>54309928Alas, the story died a death a few years ago, not having been updated since 2018. Tis a pity, leaving you wanting for more. It is not unique in its death, but its a shame this one had to be among those ranks considering what it has to offer.
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/4390479/1/No-AntidoteNo Antidote is also a solid contender for being a classic, albeit one with not a happy ending. Long story short, a bulbasaur inadvertently poisons their trainer, and must go on a quest to get the treatment needed for them before its too late. It's about the size of a novella, eight chapters deep. But you'll get your time's worth when reading this one.
Beyond that, I can't really speak much for universal classics. But I do have a good catalog of what may be considered "good" fics if you are interested.

Regarding the rest of the thread prompt, I suppose I do want more mystery dungeon fanfiction as if it were made from the late oughts, early 2010 era. More specifically ones features some of my favorite mons like beedrill, ariados, bayleef, dragonair, and so on. Alas, I have found myself greatly wanting in this vein, so I ended up having to trundle along and get the work done myself. It isn't spectacular by any means, but I think it is competent enough to at least be above the sludge you mostly find from early amateurs. I have yet to reach the heights of the better writers out there, both due to a low amount of motivation that dwindles to nothing, and my difficulties in iterating and improving upon my personal skill set to make something worth reading a damn.
Writing can be difficult.
Writing a good piece is hard.
Writing something actually worth reading? That's my needle in the haystack.
But alas, unless someone better comes along to do what I do, but better, I shall remain confined to this task until it is completed. If only I were but a more creative soul, but beggars can't be choosers.
