In all seriousness though, I don't think they'll ever reverse it, they crossed that threshold and were financially rewarded for it. The only way I see it happening is if they make more than one expansion pass, there's no way they'd do it for no added cost.
If they do what you've suggested as a means to make up for the games being a mess for the last 5 years, and don't charge for it, I'll buy one of the games as a gesture of good faith. It isn't going to happen, so my $60 is safe, but that's my stance on it if it does.
