Why would unovans name a landmark after a pokemon you can't even catch in the region?

Why not Haxorus bridge? Why not Darmanitan bridge? Why not Heatmor bridge?

I imagine it's because Charizard is effectively the "Goku" of Pokemon and if this is your first game, you'd get the reference or something because you already know who Charizard is. Idk if I'm being honest with you.

Gen 8 and 9 have more Unova pandering than Kanto probably, or it's basically a tie.
Gen 5 only pandered Kanto, you only have pokemon from kanto in BW2 with maybe a few exceptions.
