>>54324496>>54324519If I had to give Gamefreak an idea of what to do visually, I would've just done a "Super Saiyin"-ish aura around the Pokémon, and had something swirling around it. Like flames for fire-type, or simply water, or blades of grass. Maybe just have bolts of electricity cackling around the Pokémon for electric type. Snowflakes swirling around the Pokémon for ice, or black energy swirls for dark type. Gentle dust swirling around the Pokémon for ground, or solid rocks of various sizes slowly spinning around a Pokémon for rock type. Honestly, psychic, dark, dragon, ghost, bug, and fairy would all probably have to use some kind of uniquely-shaped and colored energy aura, since there isn't really any type of real-world element you could use for them. Maybe ghost could have those little Japanese ghost spirit things floating around it. But otherwise, that's what I would have done aside from just a glass hat, or a color change.
