It's my headcanon that after Elio/Chicken either grow up, retire, leave Alola, or otherwise vacate the champion seat, Acerola takes the title and holds onto it for a long while. She's the goddamn princess of the whole island and she's good enough of a trainer to be an Elite Four. If a younger person like Iris or Leon can be champ and hold onto the title, surely she could too.
Imagine how cute it would be to watch this little orphan princess curbstomp contenders with her nightmare monsters.
