>>54329187I like the openworld but the game lacks videogame personality, i mean it has a strong style but it lacks a proper direction and a basic videogame personality and gameplay and strong elements to it. the plot is too chill, the region in general is too chill, theres no strong climax points that catch your attention and are immersive. Unfortunately i played them after watching em so i didnt even have the discovering/surprise factor which does make games much more enjoyable so at least Ill be somewhat spoiler free for the dlcs. the gyms are just boring and ridicolous, the OST is too chill, casual and repetitive. theres barely any character i can sympathize with, theres no proper side quest and the dialogues mostly bore me. I like some locations and various details but the graphics tends to be too unsatisfactory, especially regarding the humans' models and flinstones car koraidon. i dont really go crazy for the progression of the game either.
It's mostly brought down by the fact that it's 2023, that there's a huge videogame history behind it, and a huge amount of pokémon games and generations behind. The fucking same 30 years old combat system is now just boring, the openworld is cool for pokemon but just nothing new at all for a videogame, and its actually pretty behind game-wise too. Gameplay mechanics like following pokemon, picnics, the paths challenges are just so weak, easy and ridicolous now.
