Do they though? It seems like they hate money. They could make millions with a week of dev time charging 9.99 a month for their own version of Showdown. They could make Billions and Billions with a real honest to god Pokemon MMO. Seriously, what gives??

If they truly wanted to be money whores, Nintendo would let TPC do whatever it wants as Pokemon becomes a mobile-only franchise.
But Nintendo still thinks they need Pokemon to sell platforms even though they have Mario Kart, Zelda, Animal Crossing, Smash and Splatoon for that.

They're greedy, not idiots. Other companies have tried the type of shit in your post and it never ended well for them.

Sure, there's a lot of ways they could make more money in the short term, but it would cost them big long-term, and Pokemon is all about the long term.

Anon VGC is its own 'tistic mess of rich kids with too much money/free time that can attend all these events. they don't even play the fucking games they compete with and all use showdown to test their teams before genning them lazily then getting caught and complaining they don't own Legends when Landorus was in the fucking Sword/Shield DLC.
