Why did we get Mega Rayquaza and not Mega Deoxys? Did it really take all of that might from Rayquaza to match a regular Deoxys?

Because it's the perfect lifeform that can shapeshift to cover its weaknesses without needing to evolve. Mega ray needed a broken mega just to not get outsped and destroyed by it.

Deoxys can turn into 3 different forms and on the spot too without needing to interact with meteorites like in the games. It can also clone itself and regenerate limbs.
