Why is this little fag considered a "legend" compared to every other protag who stopped literal gods, multiple genocide cults, and his biggest possible claim is catching Mewtwo (which never happens in any continuity for his teams)

They can't bring back past protags because then that'd confirm a canon choice, which would throw off self inserters and people who headcanon a specific choice. The only ones you could feasibly do is Gold/Ethan since Kris and Lyra didn't exist until later revisions, and BW1's since 2 can link back to it directly, but they missed their chance.

I think generations proved in some instances that even without a canon protag the champions could've stopped the villains, or at least in the spear pillar instance Giratina stopping Cyrus. Masters seems to confirm it to an extent
