* Red defeats Blue. Red later resigns as Champion and goes on a new journey. This makes sense because years later we see him in Mt. Silver with a very powerful team. Also Red character is based on the wandering warrior figure like Ryu from Street Fighter.
* Lorelei resigned from Elite 4. The reason is unknown.
* Will replaces Lorelei. Theories point to Will and Lorelei being related (both have similar physical traits and a Jynx).
* Lance resigns as Elite 4 Leader. Years later he challenges the new Elite 4 and wins. Perhaps his fights against Red and Blue convinced him that he had to return to training.
* Agatha is replaced. It's not known if she resigned or died. The fandom often links Agatha and Karen. In fact, Karen has a Gengar (could it be Agatha's Gengar?).
* Koga takes over as a member of the Elite 4 and his daughter Janine is left in charge of the Fuchsia Gym.
* Bruno is the only member who was not changed and currently the veteran of the group.
