So it seems like the current pattern with Pokémon games is something like this
>introduces a gimmick that all Pokémon can use (Gen 8, PLA, 9)
>some old Pokémon come back with regionalized forms (Gen 7, 8, PLA, 9) and some even get new regional evos (Gen 8, PLA, 9)
>other old Pokémon get special new more powerful forms (Gen 6, 7, 8, PLA, 9)
>old legendaries get revisited and gain new forms or new members to their group (Gen 8, PLA, 9)
>some new "is this really a Pokemon?" category of Pokemon is discovered (Gen 7, 9)
>lore has something to do with cosmic threats, alternate universes or time travel (Gen 6, 7, 8, PLA, 9)
>DLC is introduced that gives us more legendaries and adds the mythicals instead of making them event Pokemon (Gen 8, 9)

Based on these "patterns," I have a feeling this won't stop for Generation 10. So, what do you think will be the different spins on these trends for Gen 10?

My crackpot idea is that we go to China, Australia or just revisit Japan for the next generation. Japan makes sense because it would be the 10th generation and 30th anniversary, so they revisit the old favorites. China and Australia makes sense because they are very popular and well understood regions that would probably hit the market very positively.

every other gimmick affected battle mechanics and broke some rule, like not letting a Pokémon evolve again or letting us use more than four moves. I think the next gimmick will be something like having a Pokémon attack from your party or letting your Pokémon actually pick up a third type instead of just changing types

If we do Asia again, meh, but Australia has a lot of potential for convergent forms

with both China and Australia, my cool idea was to do something like mystic or dreamwalker forms where either the Pokémon switches to this new form or it works out like paradoxes/UBs. not sure if they would all share a type change or an ability, but the idea is kind of neat on paper

Tapu regionals for Australia 100%. Asia would be the genies or beasts again, maybe lake trio

Again: spiritual plane/mystic plane/dreamwalking

China's never gonna happen because dealing with China is too much of a pain in the ass. Having to design a whole fucking Region about China's sensibilities is too much work.
There's a reason why we only keep getting vaguely Chinese related things, that way they can have their cake and eat it too.

Australia is not and will never be a relevant country at all.
Even the Oceania International got removed from the circuit this year.
That said, I do hop Kitakami is a sign that Gen 10 will go back to Japan. Europe and America were a mistake.
