If you make a team with your 6 favorite pokemon, how good is it? How's the coverage? How does it fare in smogon meta? VGC meta?

Depends on which gen because some of my favorites have started off in RU only to end up OU or Uber at some point. Like Gen 6 I had a competitive team of some of mons I liked and most were RU and NU but all but one ended up in OU by the end of the gen. Generally just stick to pokemon I like and try to make them work. Chandelure is my all time favorite and I always try to fit one on my teams as a revenge choice scarf killer. However when the DLC for Gen 9 drops I’m gonna try out a Trick set up with Chandelure

I know fuck all about competitive or the smogon meta, but I wouldn't mind running this team in a game. It does have a bit of superfluous water types but I can deal with that.

If anyone could comment on the VGC/Smogon viability that'd be nice.

That team could honestly work minus the Ninetails. Sub it for something else, maybe something with dizzle and you could make a decent rain team. And it’s not that Ninetails is bad, just conflicts with the rest of the team. You don’t want it setting you Drought and making your water types weaker

Well if I had to sub something in I guess I'd choose Metagross, he is probably my favorite Pseudo barring maybe Kommo-o. Still, during normal play I'd prefer Ninetales because it looks cooler.

Also not great. Four of these guys are Ghost type.

Carried by Gengar. Don't see this team performing well in UU though, but I don't keep up with the Smogon meta. Sableye could be useful for spreading status and general prankster trickery

Sableye could still be used for spreading status. Gengar is outclassed by Flutter Mane, which has no problem destroying this entire team.
