>>54362102I think it was because Voltorb Flip in particular was not well received (People didn't understand the rules, it had "unfair" instant fail conditions, gave out pathetic amounts of coins that meant it was near impossible to afford the prizes within a human lifetime) and some idiot at Gamefreak took that as people simply not caring about mini games rather than that particular mini-game being badly designed.
Similar to what happened with the Battle Frontier probably. GameFreak said they stopped doing it because no one did it, not understanding that the majority of people didn't do it because it 1: Cheated, either outright like in Gen3 or in Gen4&5 through having statistically impossible full 31IV perfect EV spread teams that a human could only make with literally weeks or months of tedious soul-crushingly unfun breeding. And 2: Usually had no cool rewards or achievements for doing it. Only Gen5 ever let you use part of it's frontier early and for actual useful rewards (the subway giving you some unique TM's).
