Also, I don't really care if it's just a tactics thing, but it does bother me that injection is not in the spirit of competition. The franchise has mechanics that even if they're stupid and unnecessary, they are a part of the whole franchise. I don't think battling alone is important, which you may totally disagree. I think it's neat to know the whole mechanics of the games from RNG manipulation to shiny hunting. I think competitors should be those that have experience and knowledge of the whole experience of the games, not just the mechanics of battling. In say, Football, you don't think about how many squats or pushups someone does or how much they run, but those pretty muscle exercises are part of how they get there. Again, if you want to say "but that's not the case with Pokemon if it's just data" then go ahead. I don't agree to that point that it's just about the data when you're at the highest level of competition. You're on stage representing the culmination of the franchise and if you aren't really invested into the other mechanics of the game, I find that not in the spirit of competition.
That reminds me of one thing that made XY competitive so funny was the people with clearly fucked stats popping up in battle outing them. I think the embarrassment they have to bear with their game info being aired out should be brought back.
If it's for online random battling with no rewards I really don't care, even cheat max EVs on all stats if you want there.
