Even as a Legendary, one representing a Demiurge even, “nothing can’t be made from nothing”. Things had to be used as a ‘basis’ for these miraculous things to occur.
The Professor wanted a companion of equal standing, so using the Professor as a basis, it ‘created’ a copy, though one that was limited to the Crater because it constantly needed energy only the crater had access to as the heart of the machine pumping in collected tera energy.
The Herba Mystica are interesting; it’s hard to tell if they’re based on something like Ogrepon, who appears to have come into contact with Tera Crystals, and likely Terapagos or Area Zero at some point in the past, to have it’s power co-opted by Terapagos and used to create the health giving benefits of the Herba Mystica. It could even be that The five flavors of Herba Mystica correspond to Ogerpon and the ‘masks’ or forms it can actually achieve with Terapagos power. Spicy/Fire, Sweet/Water, Salty/Rock, Bitter/Poison(?), and Sour/Dark(?). And those are just some examples, obviously it could be different in reality.
The Time Machine is just based on the information Terapagos already gave to Heath, so really the basis for that already existed.
