Ava's deck is public knowledge. And Edgar is a meta gamer, he isn't going to ignore what his opponents are playing. He probably built her deck, tested it out and came to the conclusion that her deck kinda sucks.

Depends what you consider too P2W. They give you a few decks at the start that are pretty much 70% finished meta decks so you can use those and slowly build them. Getting gems for creating cards is slow though if you do it that way. Code cards are really cheap (~$.25 each) so I'd recommend getting a bunch of those, see what you pull, and use the gems you get to craft whatever you want.

What cards are likely in her deck? And how does it work?
She has an Oddish line, Scyther, Tropius, Cherrim and a Spoink. And the busted Darkrai. Are there any meta decks that use of of those cards? Pretty sure her Vileplume isn't a real card tho. I can't find anything that matches it. But I imagine at least a few of the other cards have to be real. This would be a bad commercial if you can't actually build any of the decks showcased.

If I had to guess, the Oddish line and Scyther are probably the ones from obsidian flames but I'm not sure about the others. The Scyther is pretty good but only because the new Scizor is strong and it can also evolve into Klevor which helps in some matchups.
