The newest games were poor enough quality that normies finally broke. DLC sales will be lower than anticipated and so will the next game if it appears to have similar issues.

DLC sales I can believe, but didn’t SV already outsell SwSh’s first few months being out? Regarding the next game, it might sell a lot too because every first Pokemon game on a new system sells a lot when it first comes out (not counting LGPE).

It is true though that SV feels like it was rejected way mkre from normies than SwSh was, which surprises me since they really ate that shit up and went for seconds.

unironically simply removing shillmons like eevee and charizard from the regional dex.
people cried and moaned when eevee was postgame only in bdsp. if you flat out removed it, the sales would tank so hard.

It’s gonna take a lot, maybe a lifetime generation. Millennials buy Pokémon for our kids because it’s something we grew up on when it was insanely popular. We know it’s safe, fun game that can get your imagination going. If this generation grows up and says “nah those games were ass” they probably won’t be passing them down. Yeah yeah, man children and all that jazz, but that’s not the bulk of players.

Who knows, my little brother was obsessed with SwSh when it first dropped (he was 15 at the time) and poured hundreds of hours into it. He was gifted Scarlet and abandoned it right after the first gym. I don’t think modern Pokemon will age as well as the classics, but I think millennials alone can keep the franchise alive for the next 50-60 years.
