It's because it's Gen 2 but better in every way, they can't stand gen 2 because it actually has an open world with adventure instead of a boring linear storyshit railroad. In fact, Johto was the last region to actually let you explore at all, everything after forces you down one linear path.

Most of your points use the word "still", implying that you're just a retarded shitposter. Both GSC and HGSS are wonderful pokemon games. Also I don't get how "muh level curve" is still a criticism given how almost everyone who has actually played through these games naturally ends up 10 levels below the E4 and still cakewalks them, even Red is retardedly easy 20+ levels underlevel due to how stats and super effective moves work.

I'm a millennial and I'm too old for gen4 games. ruby was the last game I played and I seethed because I believed I was going to backtrack to a previous region the entire game up until the end and I realized I had nothing more to do and never bought a pokemon game again. also the GBA->DS switch lost most millennials.
