People like to argue whether gen 5 or 6 was the downfall of the series, but it really started here. This is where your character started to become a prop on the NPCs stories thus killing replayability. This is where your journey becomes less personal with the removal of HMs removing the impact of your team building. This is where a literal waypoint is on a fucking minimap to take you to the next cutscene to progress NOT your story about becoming the champion. Gen 5 and 6 may be flawed, but gen 7 is entirely irredeemable and the WORST pokemon generation.
