Which hardware do you guys use for emulating the older gens? Been thinking about getting one of these since buying original copies is just too expensive

Miyoo Mini Plus is good. Be careful not to get the regular Miyoo Mini, since that one doesn't have a clock.

I used my phone before it broke. Now I have to wait for a new one. For Gameboy and Gameboy Color games just use My Old Boy! My Boy! GBA Emulator for GBA games. DESMUME for NDS games. Citra Emulator (the github one not the google store one) for 3DS games. Dolphin Emulator (I think it was also the one from github not the google play store one) for Gamecube one like Collosseum and XD. Dolphin can also do WII games but I don't have a game controller for that one. N64 Emulator Pro for Stadium and Stadium 2. I don't know an emulator for Switch games and maybe a phone is too week for Switch games?

Pokemon X doesn't run that smoothly on Citra.
Lumiose City is slow and there are a few other slow places. OR runs much more smoothly except fro a few places like Mauville City where the framerate drops.

I play DS and GBA games on my DS with my flashcards, the 3DS ones on my modded 3DS and the GBC/GBA romhacks on emulators at my phone.

That's part of why I got into these handhelds in the first place, not specifically for Pokemon but they are legitimately better than an og Game Boy for the price, even if just for the battery and backlight alone which you would normally have to pay extra for
