It is perfectly rational and valid to dislike gen 5 as it marked a turning point for the series that many did not appreciate.
It is irrational, however, to dislike gen 5 while still enjoying the successive games in the series.
Generally speaking, all of gen 5's major faults such as
>handholding
>ease of difficulty
>forced "friends"
>huge dialogue
>long cutscenes
>linear map
>bad/weird designs and objectmons
Are further and further increased in gens 6, 7, etc.
If you dislike gen 5 but still eat up Game Freak's later and newer shit, explain yourself.
