Just because my pets also have their own jobs doesn't mean that I don't love them though. I have in my lifetime had probably over 500 cats at this point (over the course of 30 years), each one I have named and loved every single day they stuck around. They want to be outside anyways, its much more natural for them. during summer we have misters set up to keep the animals cooled down, and winter isn't much of a problem here as it never gets cold enough to snow or anything. as to the bad things happening to them, bad things happen to everyone sooner or later, I just make the enviroment nice so that they should want to stick around, but if they wanna take off, im not keeping them. far as the cats go, we've been keeping most of them fixed execpt for 1-2 just to keep new cats coming because the males get chased off by other bigger males, and the females seem to stick around for longer, but they're fixed so its not an issue, plus they're more proactive about hunting vermin
