Milotic definitely looked like it was using scald.
Probably many water types are going to have it.
Scald is probably the least different than now. Sure it's more powerful than Chilling Water, but it's not the cancer it used to be.

Seeing that Scald is coming back I got to ask, Was the hatred involving the move stem from Scald being a move that cause burn in general or that it was an "off-type" move that cause burn?

It's a spammable, 100 accurate water move that has a 30% chance to burn. And it's learned by all water types. It's probably the safest click in the game next to Knock Off and there's a reason why Smogfag made a "no scald" meta back when this move was heavily relevant. So yes the fact that it's back is absolutely retarded since Chilling Water felt like it existed purely because of Scald's absence, now it's even more worthless than it already feels like.

Fire, the one type immune to being burned is weak to it, water is arguably the best defensive type which allows them to stay in on a lot of mons and there are many water types with incredible defensive traits most notably toxapex who has the regenerator ability, huge bulk, and a move that heals 50% of their HP back

I don't mind toxic getting higher distribution as long as blissey does not get it.
Scald on the other hand... hopefully it finally gets banned this gen as 99% of people agree that the game is more fun without it.
